The epic walkway puts you right out over the valley 50m below with only a single handrail to hold on to (don’t worry, your harness will keep you safe). Lake Tarawera Wharf

Cathedral Cove

Three sisters and elephant rock

In north Taranaki along the coast are some spectacular rock formations known as the three sisters and the elephant. Unfortunately this is one of the New Zealand selfie spots that is slowly eroding away, so best to get in and take your selfie ASAP. The 25m rock formations known as the three sisters are now only two. The elephant lost his trunk to erosion in 2016 but they all still look just as spectacular! Castlepoint Lighthouse
